Q: What does yeast need to grow effectively?

Around 10 grams of sugar.

What do you want to find out?

How much amount of sugar will make yeast grow faster.

What is your hypothesis?

The smaller the amount of sugar the bigger chance of growing quicker.

My hypothesis was correct, the cup with the smaller amount of sugar (10 grams) grew faster.... BY A LOT.

What will I keep the same? What will I change?

I will keep the temperature the same and I will keep the amount of yeast the same but I will change the amount of sugar. One test will have twenty games of sugar and the next test will use fifty grams of sugar. The amount of time to grow will be five minutes. (Same amount of time for each test.)

How will you test it?

1. The ingredients you will need are: a small plastic bottle,a packet of yeast, a packet of sugar and kettle of boiling water (34*,degrees),
2. Put ten grams of yeast in the plastic bottle.
3. After that put ten grams of sugar.
4. After that  pour 200 ml of  water in the plastic bottle .
5. Wait for five minutes
6. After that measure the height of the gassy substance.
7. After that do the test all over again but this time poor twenty five grams of sugar.

I have found out that the less the amount of sugar the faster and better the yeast will grow. I think this phenomenon happened because since there was more sugar it killed most of the yeast and it made it very hard to grow.

From the depth of the dense forest I came dashing to tell Kensuke something vital.

“Kensuke!” I shouted.

“Yes! What’s wrong Michelnya?!”

“I have some peculiar news. The orangutans have been acting very erratic. They have been acting hysteric and crazy and when you gaze into their eyes they seem very petrified about something.” I asserted as Stella barked and nodded as if she had agreed.

“Ok.” Kensuke nodded with confusion and dismay.

I knew this couldn’t be a coincidence but the Orangutans always acted strange so I let it go by as if it was normal or so I thought….

A few days later something happened that could of killed me.

Me and Kensuke were taking a leisurely stroll on the beach when we heard something that would haunt me and Kensuke for the rest of our lives, which I suspected wouldn’t be very long. We both heard gunfire and as we heard it we tried to find the location of where the gunfire could off came from. After a while of using our sense of hearing we finally made it to the location of the horrific sound and the scene was more petrifying than the sound…

We so a herculean ship with massive amounts of armored men with guns shooting and harassing the orangutans. I heard one of the men snapping:

“Get out of here you hairy piece of dinosaur dung!"

"Soldiers." I whispered to Kensuke with anger,

"Go behind me. Come with me but stay behind Michelnya." Kensuke whispered with determination. As I stayed behind the walked up to the most appealing soldier: A man who looked like a gangster. He wore the traditional army camo jeans and boots but had a red and white striped vest with a mullet. He had tattoos all over his arm saying 'All hail General Barnacle' bordered with dragons with scales replaced with stars.

"Hey General Barnacle!" Kensuke shouted at the ponderous General Barnacle.

"Yes! Who are you old man?" General Barnacle grunted as he pointed his Riot shotgun at Kensuke.

"What you doing to the Island and Orangutan?!" Kensuke snapped.

"Ah! You see" Barnacle grinned as he wrapped his arm around Kensuke while keeping his shotgun still intact ",we are clearing some Signs of life to be able to construct a Jungle training ground so we can train soldiers so that we can increase our army and destroy and crush our enemies and protect people from evil." Barnacle exclaimed.

"You evil, stop!" Kensuke muttered

"You can't tell me what I can and cannot do old man!" Barnacle mouthed back as he was ready to shoot Kensuke.

"Yes I can!" Kensuke snapped.

"No you can't!" Barnacle as he triggered the infamous BANG from his killing machine as blood poured out of Kensuke chest as he plunged to the ground and lay lifeless and solid.

"Nooooo!!!!! What have you done!!!! I screamed as I descended into sadness and anger.

"Nothing kid. I'm sorry but that old man deserved it!" Barnacle asserted blankly as if he didn't feel very sorry.

"I will never forgive you" I stammered angrily "get off here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Michael screamed and snapped courageously as I shook and jumped violently and frantically like a baby when he/she wanted something desperately

"Ah! I see now" Barnacle grunted ",a kid is telling what to do now!" Barnacle snapped "Let me reverse it now, you have to get out of this island in two days or you have just got free ticket to the graveyard in a Casket!" Barnacle grinned as he fiddled with his shotgun that was used to kill my closest (and oldest) friend.

I was so frustrated with general I just galloped away breaking down into tears feeling that I was the loneliest person in the world sorrounded by people who were destined to kill me. My body and my mind felt so frustrated that I wished that I could die. I just felt that I was alone or so I thought....

The next day the first thing I heard were footsteps. I was so petrified I couldn't move. I just wished that I wouldn't die yet but came to my surprise it was an unarmed soldier who looked like he was at least 11 1/2 years old.

"Hello" said the person kindly "my names Jockey and I am here to help you get out of this island."

"Ok and thanks but what do we do?" I replied sternly.

"Ok listen, pack everything you want and need and I'll get the supplies for the journey but the problem is that they won't let you out so easy so you have to put all your skills into use. Meet me tomorrow at noon at where your old man die." Jockey asserted. As Jockey said we met at the  port. I didn't feel confident and friendly as I didn't want lose anymore close friends at least for that time. I had brought a lot of Kensuke's possessions to remind me of him. "Good job. A search team found a beacon and if we fixed some parts of the beacon it would be in perfect shape. But thankfully we have all the resources we need to launch the beacon!" Jockey grinned as he showed me something I thought I would see or use anymore... As he opened his hand I saw something transparent and I immediately thought of...

"Fire glass!" I gasped ",how did you get it?!"

"They always have some fire glass just incase and for this priority it is for your case." Jockey replied almost immediately. As we headed towards the beacon I heard footsteps and before I could gasp Jockey immediately pulled me into the forest. "Now here comes the part where you are going to have to use your agility and speed. But no matter what you do stay very close to me." Jockey squeaked desperately as he got his gun ready. 3....2..........1...........Gooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jockey screamed as he sprinted and shot the neighboring soldiers. At that time it seemed very hard to conclude if Jockey was the coolest or craziest 11 year old I had ever met. As he killed a few more soldiers I ducked down to avoid having a bullet go through my skull but after a while we got to the beacon but more soldiers were advancing on us including Barnacle as he was cursing and commanding his men. "Do you know how to set a Fire?" Jockey asked desperately as he shot more soldiers.

"Of course! I'll do it now." I replied desperately and immediately. As he stalled for more time I ran up the beacon and set up the fire and in no time a fire started and as I screamed violently and desperately but I knew doing what I was doing right now would be useful so I grabbed another gun and shot the army. For a while of hard work something happened to me that me and Stella had been waiting for a long time. "A boat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We're saved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I exploded with joy as I wiggled, jumped, screamed and waved frantically and happily and to my joy it was coming closer and closer.

"We have to dive and swim to the boat so get Ready!" Jockey asserted desperately and so I followed his orders and grabbed my bag and Stella "Are you ready? 3........2...............1....................... Gooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" be screamed as we jumped off the hill and as soon as we touched the water we swam to the boat and after minutes of paddling we got to the boat and we immediately went into the captain office and thanked him.

"We need to go to Northampton in England captain." I asserted.

"It's  your lucky day then because that's exactly where we are heading too." The captain grinned.

"THANK YOU!" we both said. As we rested I started to get know Jockey a little bit better.

"Jockey why did you help me?" I asked.

"Because a eleven or ten year old doesn't deserve to die." he replied.

"But how come your parents let you join the army?" I asked again.

"My parents died when I was just as baby and I was raised by an orphanage and I don't other kids to be orphans also and I want to protect people." he stammered as he looked like he was going to burst into tears.

I replied "My parents could adopt you."

"Really!" he squealed happily.

"Of course! It gets lonely when you only have parents, a dog" as I stroked Stella in her head "and a football."

"That would be excellent but we'll have to see." he asserted confidently.

"Yes we will see!" I exploded with confidence as we sailed off into the horizon........

That was my story around the world and about Kensuke and Jockey and without I would never live up until this day. But who knows if this might happen to another boy who soul be ten years old when he gets stranded and happens to meet an old Japanese man. Who knows.......

For our topic called holiday show/ eco tourism we had to make a furnished villa model and this is it I really enjoyed making this because it was fun and interesting. It envolved doing a lot of wood working and sticking and material using.

Myth: Oddyseus and Cerberus and the Mino-bat-iren

Oddyseus and Cerberus: And The Mino-bat-iren

From the depth of the horizon, Odysseus and his crew were sailing through the crystal clear ocean. Just as they were going to rest Odysseus spotted the island of Crete and it made him recall about his time in Greece his homeland. Besides seeing a Greek island he saw something else: a beautiful island, a paradise with lush green fields towering mountains nearly as tall as mount Olympus or mount Othrys. Despite the beauty of the island there was something wrong with the island, it was abandoned. But the island looked like it could support human life with no exceptions. But after all the psychopathic and bloodthirsty monsters he had faced Odysseus could not miss the chance rest on land with no monsters attacking him and his few crew-members. Because of this decision he made a speech to his crew members.

"Land on island to the right of the sun! After months and almost years of battling disturbing monsters who have ate our beloved brothers, we are finally going to rest on a humble and monster-free island!" mouthed with pride. As he finished his speech Odysseus's crew member cheered and got to work incept for one of them Cerberus. Cerberus was a Greek eighteen a and half old boy who lived in Troy all his life. He lived there for ten years until the, Trojan war came along and he had to join the Greek or he would dishonor his father: Ares the God of war. Who had given him the blessing of being the one of the greatest sword fighter in history, ultimate strength that was compared to Heracles and other great fighters. He was a master of disguise and stealth. But he also knew that there might be a monster so deadly he would of made her parents: the Minotaur and Siren and grandmother Echidna proud.

As they approached the beautiful island, a cold shiver went down Oddyseus's vertebra. He saw in terror a school of massive waves bashing the ship and making massive holes and flooding massive areas in the ship. It was as if the the actual embodiment of the sea was trying to attack the ship but Oddyseus knew exactly what the reason was. Pholyphemus the Cyclopes said that Poseidon his father will curse them in their journey back home through the sea of monsters. Finally the curse has knocked down one of its biggest dominoes in its continuous dominoes effect until Oddyseus and his beloved crew make it to their beloved home or die trying. But despite the fear in Oddyseus's heart and eyes he fought on through the the wave as he knew that if he carried on in his current state he and his crew will die with fear as their final emotion, this was Oddyseus's golden moment to act like a true leader and with desperation but courage he mouthed:

"This will not slow us down we will not die from the curse we will conquer the wave!" And as Oddyseus finished he lit up a fire in each and single crew member especially Cerberus. Cerberus had a plan: since his father Ares was very close to Poseidon, the God of sea granted Cerberus the power of controlling water and waves if he wanted to. And if he combined his ultimate strength and controlling any form of water and waves he could decrease the danger and strength of the waves. Cerberus told Oddyseus his plan and Oddyseus approved the plan and so everybody went to work.

After hours of battling through the waves Oddyseus and his crew made it to the island. Everyone was worn out especially Cerberus as he used all his energy to stop the waves from destroying the ship and everyone on it but consequently the ship was torn apart and so they needed to find resources but for the moment Oddyseus and his crew rested and relaxed.

2 days later

After the two days of rest that Oddyseus had, he planned to go with a search party went of to find resources to rebuild the ship. After a while, Oddyseus set of to explore the land which left the camp to Cerberus, after a couple of hours Oddyseus had not come back which made Cerberus have a sneaky suspicion but he still remained patient and calm. After another two days Oddyseus had still not come back and so Cerberus decided to send him and a second search party to collect resources and find Oddyseus and his crew.

As Cerberus searched for Oddyseus and collected resources they stumbled across one of the mountains. As soon as Cerberus was near it he felt a presence of suspicion and evil. On the mountain he saw blood stains on the mountain and smelled a stench of rotten meat and blood that swarmed the mountain and his crew. And Cerberus knew that this was the home of the beast he feared of and because of that fact, he knew exactly where the location of Oddyseus and his party was.

"Boys we go up this mountain and fight the beast that might stand!" Cerberus blurted out.

"What beast!?" one the crew members replied almost immediately.

"A beast that is the son of the Minotaur and the siren!" He said with his expression darkenening. As soon as Cerberus finished his description Cerberus's search party gulped but a short while later Cerberus and his crew journeyed to the top of the mountain.

As Cerberus and his crew journeyed to the top of the mountain they came across a cave that was a perfect fit for a true blood-thirsty monster. The wall, the ceiling and the ground was blood stained with crushed bones scattered everywhere. As Cerberus was searching desperately for any other detail in this bloodstained hell, in Cerberus's relief but also horror he saw Oddyseus and his party fainted hanging on the on the ceiling. Just as Cerberus was going to sprint to Oddyseus to help him a terrifying beast came out of the depth of darkest part of the cave. The beast was as bulky as a bull and it had the legs and feet of a bull, a torso of a very bulky and fit human and had the arms and biceps of a very cumbersome human too but his hands were bat hands with claws as deadly as knifes. But the most horrific part of him was his head: it was a bull face with vampiric red eyes and massive and ghastly bat ears, and he had blood dripping down his grim and hideous jaws. His horrific fangs had flesh stuck between his teeth and they were blood stained by eating to many flesh and blood. He was at least fourty meters tall.

"Welcome my guests I am the Mino-bat-iren!" The Mino-bat-iren exclaimed in joy. The beast's voice sounded like a earthquake."Do you want to join my feast!" The Mino-bat-iren asked as if it was trying to tease Cerberus. There was a long but awkward silence until the Mino-bat-iren broke the silence "No? Fine! Your loss!" Just as the Mino-bat-iren finished his last speech of hospitality he did something that shocked and brought horror to everyone (especially Cerberus) eyes and hearts. The Mino-bat-iren lashed at one of the fainted crew members and as he woke up he screamed in horror as the horrible beast ate him alive with a biting action so disturbing it made everyone feel sick except for Cerberus.

As soon as the Mino-bat-iren finished his meal with a "un-manly" manner Cerberus struck with all his rage with his most beloved weapon called "head slicer" that was given by his father Ares which could damage humans and beasts. As he battered at the head of the Mino-bat-iren the monstrous beast blocked with his claws and the Mino-bat-iren struck back but Cerberus dodged the attack and struck once more but the Mino-bat-iren clearly had the advantage. He struck faster than Cerberus and did not just cut Cerberus badly but made him fly out of his cave and tumble of the mountain."Die grotesque, loathsome scum! Dare defy me you die!!!!!!!" The Mino-bat-iren screamed and snapped.

While the Mino-bat-iren cursed and cursed continuously Cerberus lay injured with cracked bones. He was gazing at the cave that he was standing inside then Cerberus had a superlative idea! Since he was the master of stealth and disguise he could disguise himself as the Mino-bat-iren's mother, the Siren and he could pretend to massage his neck but actually use his strength to snap the foul beast’s neck.

"Genius!" Cerberus whispered to himself with a little hint of hope and happiness. As he found and made his costume Cerberus went up the mountain and started his plan. As soon as he/she got into the cave Cerberus/Siren heard:

"Mother!" The Mino-bat-iren screamed with joy.

"Hello, dear!" Cerberus/Siren said frantically.

"Mama, I have captured a lot of men!" The Mino-bat-iren said like a kid.

"Well done dear! I am very proud of you." Cerberus/Siren said with sarcasm.

"Do you want one man?!" Asked the Mino-bat-iren.

"I am fine dear. After all that work do you want a neck massage?" Asked Cerberus/Siren.

"Yes please!" Mino-bat-iren answered with joy. While Cerberus was massaging Mino-bat-iren he grabbed his neck and pulled it."Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!" Screeched the Mino-bat-iren with pain and agony. 

"To bad beef head!" Cerberus said. As Cerberus finished his sentence he heard a snap and the Mino-bat-iren fell, his lifeless body did not move at all. The Mino-bat-iren was dead.

Everyone cheered for Cerberus as they collected Oddyseus and his party, then they disassembled the camp and they rebuilded the ship and they were on their way back to Greece again. While they were sailing Cerberus told Oddyseus the whole story.

"Well done Young man." Said Oddyseus.

"Thank you Sir." Replied Cerberus with pride.

"You will be remembered Cerberus but right now we must concentrate on getting back to Greece alive..." Odysseus said with happiness.

"Yes sir!" Cerberus said. And Oddyseus, Cerberus and their crew sail again to find another island where another beast may be waiting to lash out.........
